Malaysian History Section:

Indonesian History Section:
The Portuguese in the Moluccas, the Dutch and the VOC, British Rule in Indonesia, The Culture System, Liberalism and the Acehnese Wars.

Each selection includes a list of new vocabulary items and a set of ten comprehensive questions. These questions will help improve the student's comprehension of formal Malay and Indonesian, as well as introduce writing in a guided and structures way. The introduction to the text contains advice on how to work with listening comprehension materials, and the first lesson includes a sample format for writing answers to the comprehension questions.
The selections are recorded on four audio cassettes which accompany the book. The text of each recording is also included to enable students to wrok individually either in the classroom or at home.
